A Legacy of Excellence in Family Law

Kerker & Gleeson P.C. has a rich history rooted in the Capital District. Originally a general practice firm, Kerker & Gleeson P.C. evolved into a practice exclusively focused on family law, driven by a passion for helping clients through life's most difficult transitions. Founded by Albany Law School alums Valerie Kerker and Kathleen Gleeson, the firm built a reputation for excellence in family law across the Capital District, a tradition that Kathleen has carried on since Valerie's retirement in 2024.

The Professional Journey of Kathleen Gleeson

Kathleen Gleeson grew up in Hyde Park, New York and settled in the Capital District after graduating magna cum laude from Siena College in 1991 and cum laude in 1994 from Albany Law School. Kathleen has been practicing law in the Capital District since she was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1995. Kathleen started her career working for Valerie Kerker, later becoming a partner at Kerker & Gleeson P.C.

Following Valerie’s retirement in 2024, Kathleen has continued with the firm, representing clients throughout the Capital District in both Supreme Court and Family Court. Kathleen’s practice is focused in all areas of matrimonial and family law: divorce and separation, child custody and support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Having been trained in the alternative dispute resolution forms of both Mediation and Collaborative Law, Kathleen is able to offer her clients various options for resolving their matters. She believes in helping her clients reach practical solutions during difficult times.
