Kathy Gleeson
Kathleen grew up in Hyde Park, New York and settled in the Capital District after
graduating magna cum laude from Siena College in 1991 with a degree in Political Science. Kathleen then attended Albany Law School, graduated cum laude in 1991 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1995. Kathleen started working for Valerie Kerker in 1994, first as a Law Clerk and then as an Associate Attorney where she began her practice in residential real estate and family/matrimonial law. Kathleen became a partner in 2005 when she and Valerie formed Kerker & Gleeson P.C. Kathleen represents clients throughout the Capital District in both Supreme Court and Family Court.
Kathleen believes in helping her clients reach practical solutions during difficult times. To that end, Kathleen took her first mediation training in 2003 and, with Valerie, formed Family Mediation Services. In the spring of 2008 Kathleen and Valerie, together with a group of other attorneys, mental health professionals and financial experts received Collaborative Law training and formed the Collaborative Divorce Association of the Capital District (CDACD). Kathleen is a Past President of the CDACD and has served on the Board of that organization almost continuously since its inception as Treasurer, Secretary and Director of Standardization and Forms. Kathleen has also served on the Marketing Committee and is involved with the Special Kids Committee.
Kathleen brings her years of experience and the tools from her mediation and collaborative training to all aspects of her practice and is able to offer her clients various options for dispute resolution that will best fit their individual needs.
Kathleen resides in Delmar, New York with her husband, two children and golden retriever. She enjoys reading, sewing, the outdoors and spending time with her family.
